Seven Years Apart

By Lizenn on February 15, 2026 6:19 pm

It was an AWFUL week. Having this little game with titles I wanted to use the seventh week to make a song for my sister which I have a 7 years difference with and is very dear to me, unfortunately creative blockage came, and I couldn't find anything meaningful and good and satisfying. Of course, searching for something that precise in a so short time frame was asking for failure. And the piling stress and frustration was not going to get me anywhere but in pain.

So I just ended with making this guitarish stuff with boring drums but I wanted to get rid of this week quickly. It's very painful and frustrating. It's part of the creative process but it's kinda infuriating to be honest haha ! Sorry for this week, sorry to my sister, I'll do better next time ! I'll keep the ideas I got working on this to make a good song one day. Not everything is lost.

It's ok ! Take care y'all !

Yay, post-rock! I often tell myself that quantity > quality in this context, there will be good things if I bring myself to write a bit every week. Also, it was still nice to listen to smile

The drums sound great on this. I really didn't expect that beat over this guitar part.

Kind of Tortoise or Slint or something like that.

It builds in a lovely way, you shouldn't be disappointed at all.

Yeah I kinda do agree. It's a marathon, you won't be at 100% all journey long, it's just impossible. But every step is a win and a learn. That's what I have in mind. I'm ok with this being a fail because I've learned I can't work the way I wanted to this week, at least not yet. I hope I'm on a path to bangers :DD ! Thank you ♥

Thank you very much ! I'm a bit sad I had to rush the drum part partly because I was kinda running out of energy and I wanted this week to be away ! But I still tried to make something. I'm happy it's listenable at all, but my disappointment mostly is about not being able to make what I wanted to make the way I wanted it. I'm over it but it was painful haha !

This is lovely, your guitar tones are great. Mix is just so. Drums are far from boring, they accent the wash of guitars really well, and aren’t the typical sort of beat.

It may not have been what you wanted to create, but chalk it up as a success anyway, I really liked it. Favorited.

I really like these drums! They pop just right against the lush wall of guitar goodness. I'm sorry you were frustrated and didn't get to make what you had in mind, but you created something beautiful anyway, so take pride!

Thank you very much ! I know how I could just do better on this, maybe one day, but for sure feelings were very mixed on this one, because of all the emotional turmoil. I'm very happy you liked it despites my bad attitude :DD

It's okay. I mean at least I got humbled and remembered how I just can't and mustn't force music out of my body. Needed that reminder. But you are damn right, it's something created anyway ! Glad you liked it, thank you very much !!

Such a shame, because I love the vibes.
