Great set up. What are you using to generate the kick? And what drives the pattern or sequencing? Very cool sound.

The pattern is sequenced by my exo sequencer module - the sixteen step pink one in the top left, and the timing comes from my variable clock which is right next to it. I think the kick was generated by a sinewave sweep, from memory a make noise sto module

It's the drum sounds and the beat that feel tropical to me.

Agreed!  I think there is a latent steel drum sound that is recalling that.
