Wow, that synth aesthetic feels massive.
thank you very much! I felt like doing some just intonation stuff (using the ratios of m8's FM synth) and I forgot how gnarly that gets with distortion/wavefolding (using the SIN AMP mode). I was using the saw waves with feedback initially, but I think that turned into fuzz hell, was a whole other flavor of goopy awesomeness though.
You must be enjoying your trip, looks like a fun ride
This track is crystallized fire! <3
thank you! we took a little jaunt to Izu, which was a highlight of the trip, and I had 3-4 ideas going in m8 and just kind of welded them together so I'd have something to upload before the deadline. I just got back from the trip, had a great time! that bridge was a great "Toto, we're not in Tokyo anymore" - felt like the kind of thing you'd see in a fantasy racing game but it's real!
really interesting composition with those weird sounds, nice one!
Really really really love the sound design here -- the distort-it-good moments (e.g like 1:30-ish) is some sandy goodness. It's interesting you took it into more staccato / percussive direction, I really expected the thing to get more drone.
Love the sound of the splat drum tones combined with some cool melodies and tones.

thank you very much. it's always tempting with JI stuff to go to dronesville, so it's fun to ride that line. I often think about exploring that idea of overtones in the synthesis along with undertones in the rhythm (i.e. polyrhythms)

thank you it was fun to make!
