awesome heart listen to it til you pass out, then, because you need some rest after that banger you made!

Humbling and inclusive una strange sense as my first love is reggae.

Lots of nice details and plenty of space to feel.

I would love to see the file to see what you did on nanoloop, how are using the octatrack?

Thank you for sharing this reinterpretation of my song. Bow.

that is beautiful to hear. King Tubby is a formative influence for me.

happy to share the NL file - I will upload along with the 7 loops I used. I did little to it, to be honest. off the top of my head:
- lowered BPM to 78
- made some parameter changes to one of the basses, mostly turning on stereo, changing modulation frequency and depth, and lengthening envelope
- made parameter changes to a couple of pads - the most noticeable was one where I changed the LFO target to modulation depth, which was interesting with the polyphony as the undulations overlapped in phase like rippling water

I picked the BPM after listening through the whole track a few times, then listening to each track individually. after making the tweaks, I rendered stems of the tracks one at a time, and trimmed out loops that fit with the vibe that was starting to grab my ear at that BPM. I was starting to enjoy the workflow of NL and would've liked to spend more time in there, but started too late (Saturday morning) and I knew I was going to need to move to the OT to do what I wanted to do with the track in time.

the Octatrack is the arranger, sample-player and processor. it plays some of the loops all the way through, and some just one-hit slices. some of the tracks use the default resonant HPF/LPF configuration (like the bass, which also utilizes the filter's analog-modeled envelope's attack phase for a 3-stage opening-up pattern independent of the note sequence) and delay (very lightly modulated for more detuning on the tails). others have things like parametric EQ (the snare), reverb (the other drums), and/or chorus (the hihat/snare LFSR/noise). there are also some trig conditions to increase the complexity of the otherwise simple patterns. I also used the scenes with the crossfader as a delay send control toward the end of the track for classic dub delay action on the bass.

I love your music and I've been wanting to remix one of your songs for a long time. this was the first one so far I felt I could make a meaningful interpretation of. it's an honor to share with you.

Funny you mention King Tubby; when I heard this from the playlist the word "dub" popped in my head and my head felt the need to internally haul out its  List of Things We Know About Dub and point out the complete absence of space delays, traditional instruments,  evidence of smoke-fugged mixing consoles, and a checklist of other differences—concluding with but-yeah-now-you-mention-it-this-vibe-makes-me-feel-a-lot-like-dub-does-wtf.  Came here to mention it,  found KT already mentioned.   My head needs to revise its List.

excellent work. very dope.

hearing these mixes are so fun - i had to listen to the 1st llama...
this llama is on summer vacation

Woah that bass. Yeah I feel underwater. And stoned. Maybe I am stoned, I forgot. This grooves, nice remix, I gotta go hear the OG. Great crisp production

I like the way you made this track. The mix of the deep bass, and the ethereal bell like sounds over. Very nice.
