Approaching Vantage

Another slow sparse one. I'm pleased with it - I had a crazy couple of weeks and I've been craving this kind of feeling: boring, relaxed, uncluttered, leveling off.

Monomachine -> H1 again. 3 tracks of SID pulsewave (including kick), a reverb, and a digipro ENS. I recycled an old pattern and took it elsewhere. I paid special attention to gain staging this time so that each track's level control actually matched the range I wanted it at in the track. That allowed me to shift things in and out more delicately than usual and I plan to use that again.

The opening minute screamed Brothomstates to me. And I got Ae - Anvil Vapre vibes from the second half for some reason. It's like they coalesce here.

This could be ideal listening material for a train ride on a rainy day.

I totally had Brothomstates' Kivesq somewhere in my head when I made this smile Thanks man!

Like being out in space, nice atmosphere. Like the build up to second half. I recently started to consider gain staging more closely too.

Thanks man smile Yeah it's pretty great being able to have reasonable control over levels!
