Doing the Twist Again

I decided it was time to do a James Taylor like song and this is the result. My themes tend to stick with what I consider spiritual for me – dance, song, music and friendships. I need to fit food in there somewhere.

Verse
Young and restless at the school playground
Punching that tether ball round and round
Those years we tried hard to be the best
Win or lose our friendship passed every test
Chorus
I thought my feet were on solid ground
Till the buzzin’ in my ears was the only sound
And when my head began to spin
I knew we’d be doing the twist again
Verse
As we grew older watched a story unfold
Attraction, rebellion made us bold
Gave each other our hearts to hold
And we dared to consider the gold
Chorus
I thought my feet were on solid ground
Till the buzzin’ in my ears was the only sound
And when my head began to spin
I knew we’d be doing the twist again
Verse
The future a labyrinth of choice
Follow your heart or follow the voice
The chosen path can’t be traveled alone
Friend and lover you’re the story of home
Chorus
I thought my feet were on solid ground
Till the buzzin’ in my ears was the only sound
And when my head began to spin
I knew we’d be doing the twist again
Chorus
I thought my feet were on solid ground
Till the buzzin’ in my ears was the only sound
And when my head began to spin
I knew we’d be doing the twist again
