la belle hautbois dormant

By c-cube on June 11, 2024 1:02 am

Continuing my exploration of bitwig and the very basics of composition. This week I found some more fun instruments to play with, namely a fun oboe and *clock strikes* (!), and tried to improve a bit the percussion bit. Overall this is still very early exploration of harmony and structure (what structure?) but my approach is to not overthink it for now and keep exploring.

The title is a terrible pun best left untranslated.

Structure is overrated! Dig the intro introducing some instruments then bringing them together with the bass and drums. Cool melodies and the variation keeps it interesting. Keep exploring!

The beautiful oboe sleeps? Nice work on the track!! I can't wait to hear more stuff from you big_smile

It's a misspelling of https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Belle_au_bois_dormant :-) (hautbois = oboe, au bois = of the wood, kind of).

Still a bit quiet, which is a shame, that oboe really ought to stand above everyone else.
