Percussion & Drum Programming: Jason Pellegrino
Electric Bass: Jason Pellegrino
Synths & Song Arrangement: levelcapybara

HUUUUUUGE shoutout this week to Jason Pellegrino from some excellent bass grooves and percussion programming, and for putting it all together in the final mix. Jason's an amazing musician and producer and I'm beyond grateful for the chance to work with him on this one!

This started as a challenge to make a backing track that'd be fun to jam out to on bass, and wound up turning into a spiritual sequel to a WeeklyBeat from 2020 along the way:

Happy Week 23 everybody!

This is an awesome collab between you and Jason Pellegrino!  Always appreciate your calming chord progressions. It shows right away and then the bass and percussion come in with some sweet energy.

I love how big it feels. Like wonderous and exploring.

So good, calming feeling, explorative too, I could definitely hear it in a game while walking in either some forest lands or futuristic above sky base heart

I really enjoyed working on this track with you!
Thanks for A: Thinking of me.
and B: Trusting me enough to allow me to put my stank all over your beautiful track, lol.

Nice collab.  It feels uplifting, but also soothing.  A good tonic for the spirit and mind.

Boy, this is something else. Talk about the sum of your parts. Both relaxing and positively energetic, paints all sorts of imagery. Both should be very proud of this, and great work pulling it off so tight.

That bass has such a nice tone! I like the piano melodies, very pretty against the whole arrangement.

Oof that bass! What a great tone, and what a great funky groove! The drums on this are incredible too! But they are both wonderfully complemented by soaring synths and tone-setting arps. A really wonderful colliding of two worlds. Well done to both of you!

What an amazing track, such a nice laid back intro, like how its stretched out and then bang at 2 minutes in your hit with these fantastic drums.  Yet still nothing over the top, the drums are full on but everything is still smooth and laid back.

Lovely juicy synths let's go. Classic levelcapy chromatic chords, loads of mystery and depth in there. The drums are very crispy and tight, excellent mixing there. A bit of a tour de force, this.

what an awesome collab! wish you could've seen my face when the drums come in. the bass is wild big_smile

The pad at 32 seconds really opens this one up and announces its presence with authority. Lovely progression with the bass and drums once this gets going. This is beautiful craftsmanship from you both.

sick collab. Drum inspo for sure wow. a total package with the bass! Nice work you two!

whoa this is shocking!!!

incredible job to both!  how were the drums programmed, they sound sick

This is amazing and the mix is on point. Like  @orangedrink's , I'd love to know how those drum were approached.

Really love how the track takes its time to develop. Super dynamic approach altogether. Amazing job  you two!

Hey all, thanks so much for the feedback! For the drums I used the Nate Smith loop library. (Yurt Rock was running a sale last year), and chopped them up and flipped them in Acid Pro. (Still my DAW, pretty ridiculous, I know.)
