die ente

Another SaGa Frontier 2-style sketch. Renewed appreciation here for old-school Hamauzu, because boy are these challenging for me to write. 😬 Hamauzu nailed a very specific blend of classical / minimalism when he worked on SF2 - repetitious but not tedious, busy but not cluttered, shifting without meandering. Can’t say I’ve hit those marks with these sketches yet, but I’m learning a lot by trying.

Pop quiz: was ist die ente?

Happy Week 16 everybody!

Oooh love the bells at :50 and how it joins the main melody.  I've never played SF2 but it's giving me a bit of the Chrono Trigger feels too. Love it! Quack! wink

Happy week 16!
I love the production on this track - the bass that builds a strong basis, and the other layers that float above. It has a spring-themed video game atmosphere.

love this, the piano delay is so nostalgic!!

I'm not familiar with the style exactly, but based on your description of what you're going for, I'd say your hitting the mark. Shifting without meandering is a great quality and I can hear that for sure here.

It has an upbeat and playful feel that is quite appealing.  I'm a bit rusty on my Deutsch, but I believe the answer is:

I love it when I unlock a bonus level and this track comes on!

actual footage of me listing to this jaunty tune:

love the delays going on, you hit your mark with busy but not cluttered. I can always imagine myself exploring a video game world with your songs as the perfect soundtrack.

man, i dont play enough videogames.  after hearing the piano with delay you used i have to find a way again to play secret of mana big_smile

The stereo delays on this are fantastic!!!
A great piece, full of energy and excitement, and very much making the most out of the minimalism you are striving for!
