A sketch inspired by SaGa Frontier 2.
Pop quiz: Was ist das wasserschwein?

Happy Week 15 everybody!

i'm not familiar w F2, but i feel like my life has just leveled up after listening to this incredible music
THANK YOU, LCB heart

Exciting! Great vibes smile

It hits with a lot of great energy right out of the gate, and then I think it's a neat effect how some more soothing and chill tones enter on top of that.  There's a constant sense of motion, but it's never anxiety inducing and even feels peaceful at times.  Like maybe watching a river flow or a waterfall.

My kid was just down here trying to find Switch 22.1 keys for Yuku/Ryujinx so he can play Tomodachi Life 3 days in advance of his preorder. This song was perfect for the (failed) search.

Oooh I love the play between the different piano melodies and the drums.  Feels like a high speed chase between a runaway train and a hero on a horse yikes  Excellent work!

Wonderful!!
Which korg is making these sounds?? It sounds so nostalgic, such an iconic palette, but I can't pick it!
Either way, you've used it here to wonderful effect! Excellent stuff!

ooh i love these pianos. this sounds fantastic

This is great! Definitely jrpg coded

Arptastic! So lively and playful with leads that fit perfectly with pixelated adventures.

One of my favorite games and soundtracks ever! This is amazing, I can hear which song you pulled inspiration from  for the melodies and sections. The piano arpeggiation, hihats and strings are fuckin spot on. Getting deeper in it’s like 90% SF2, 5% FFT and 5%  mix of the Mana series! You truly magic dude.

wheee

The piano is craaazy and the mellow horn-like sound coming in after is lovely. No idea how you balanced so many standout elements in this one, ridiculous stuff haha. Having not listened to any of SaGa Frontier 2, I can safely say I've never heard anything like this!

Thanks so much rayjkayj! It's one of my favorite soundtracks too. 😊 The SaGa Frontier 2 piano arrangement album (Piano Pieces β€œSF2”) is what made me want to be a composer in the first place. Without it, I might never have made it to WeeklyBeats, so your comment made me really happy!

Only just started the game itself recently - it's got fascinating storytelling and style! Can't say I'm very good at it though, so any tips are appreciated. πŸ˜…

Thanks! It's a piece about a certain creature that tends to live near rivers and waterways, so glad to hear the piece gave off that impression. 😊

I use Korg Legacy Collection - M1. Picked it up ages ago and it's easily been the most reliable tool in my kit ever since. 😊 Thanks so much for listening, and for the kind feedback!

Thanks Cursory! Honestly, it was hard deciding what to keep / cut this time around. πŸ˜… But I'm glad to hear the track turned out okay!

Love the energy and the happy vibes in this one! Without reading any of the other comments or googling: Water pig? smile
