birthday bash

By levelcapybara on September 20, 2020 11:06 pm

Today's the birthday of my all-time favorite composer, Masashi Hamauzu! Most people probably know him from Final Fantasy (the Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, World of Final Fantasy, Final Fantasy VII Remake) and SaGa (SaGa Frontier II, Unlimited SaGa); but he's worked on other amazing game soundtracks (Sigma Harmonics, The Legend of Legacy, The Alliance Alive), animation soundtracks (Typhoon Noruda), and even non-soundtrack projects (Imeruat, Alpha Clock). Take some time to listen to his work today. As for me, I spent a bit of today with his SaGa Frontier II piano arrangement album. Hamauzu's music inspired me to make my own, and without that album, I may never have gotten to WeeklyBeats.

So Happy Birthday, Hamauzu-san, and many more to come! smile

(Hope this turned out to be an acceptable tribute. Just found out it was his birthday this morning, which didn't leave me a lot of time!)

hbd.  Very cool tribute song as well.  There's something very comforting about that piano lead.

I'll have to put on some of these soundtracks this week and give them a listen, probably the one that influenced you so much. This is a nice tribute to him, I bet he'd think it's touching that fans of his write songs for him on his birthday smile

This is very soothing. Definitely an acceptable tribute!

Fantastic tribute, anyone would be happy with this.

Very nice. The piano melody is really good and i love the wood block like percussion, it works really well. Good track.

Thanks for the feedback everybody! It was a fun challenge, and a fun attempt to show appreciation for my favorite composer.
