This is a sunday speedrun and started out as speedtrash. Had originally planned on doing something else that didn't come together in time, so I went back to something more comfortable - and I gotta say, I don't hate the result. I need to push myself every time I try to write lyrics, but every time it ends up being somewhat therapeutic.

Most interesting thing going on in the production is probably the gritty "speak and spell" layer of the chorus that also pops up during V2 saying "XY" and is soloed during the outro. The native bitcrusher in Studio One is pretty fantastic, but doing that sort of heavy distortion (or pitch shifting, for that matter) will mess up your sibilants. That can lead to sounding like a heavy lisp, even when layered. So what I did is I split the signal path and used two instances of the de-esser plugin Waves Sibilance, one on the path with the bitcrusher and one on a dry path. On the path of the bitcrusher, all sibilants are actually heavily removed. Using the same setting on the dry path, I set Sibilance to simply output what it's "listening to". The result: The "S" sounds clean while I get to destroy everything else! 
also how did you do this as a speedrun I have no idea. Sounds like way more work tbh
