Lonely Toyboy

Eyyy it's chiptune AGAIN??

You know when you wanna write lyrics and then you have to actually start to think about what and how you feel? I've spent the last couple weeks with a lot of old, very good friends, and this week I was by myself most of the time, because none of them live here. So there's the tagline.
I was also inspired by fellow Weeklybeater Roboctopus. To me, keeping the words to a minimum, giving them a chance to somewhat expand with the music, is part of the magic, so I left it at that and spent some time on building in tons of tiny variations.

Again, this one's all M8. I wanted to explore the limitations of chip music a bit more and started out wanting to use only the Wavsynth engine and 3 tracks at most.
I broke both rules down the line. Recording the vocal clip (onboard mic, bitcrushed and downsampled to death) and arranging it with the track took another 2 tracks for stereo, and around the 1:30 mark I decided I wanted the Toy engine from Macrosynth as well. I'm pretty happy with the result anyway, the limitations gave me a great place to start and got me to a place where I could confidently break the rules because an idea had by then formed.
