After the last couple weeks very sound design heavy tracks, I was in the mood for oldschool songwriting-style composition. I wanted to try and embrace that sound and make a little tune evoking the LSDJ sound palette, although this is obviously well beyond the confines of the GameBoy chip (I'll tag this chiptune anyway just to spite the purists). It's hard, especially when not already very familiar with the specifics of chiptune arrangement techniques. And while I'm pretty well versed in writing melodies and chord progressions, I feel I could train that muscle a bit more. Felt pretty uncreative after the initial A and B sections (while my inspiration has at least 4, maybe 5 distinct parts). Might have gotten a little complacent with the variation of my music lately.
