Started off with a strong idea on Monday and that was the beginning of the end.
I've found that a part with a single instrument that feels like it has "potential" creates pressure to put together a song around it that realizes that potential - and that's when blocks happen. There could've been much more experimenting with a C-section, more building, more craziness. But a week suddenly feels like very little time when a task seems big.
But I got something made, and I have a badass preset for future productions. Also, apart from struggling with this beat, I actually had a great week with synth meetups, jams and workshops. I'm discovering the scene in Berlin and it feels great!

The Main patch came from the idea that I wanted to have a lead line that get's sent to the same distortion with a bass, so that the bass causes the lead to break up a little. But because there's no bus FX on the M8, I had to help myself with an FM Synth patch, creating a bass from two Operators, and using the remaining two for the lead, that I could then play somewhat separately using the FMxx commands. That's how the main part happened.
The drums are synthesized, with the snare being one of my favourites so far.
Trusty old sample mangling from about 1:05, also an additional Wavetable bass.
