Exhaustion High

No samples were touched in the making of this track. All M8 Synthesis, no re-sampling this time either. I was really consistent with working on this, put in about 8h30min over the course of the week. I was feeling really inspired by a couple of sound design experiments, but when it came to tying everything together into a structure, I couldn't quite figure out where things were supposed to lead.

The sound design sessions really paid off, I think you got some really unique and cool sounds. I particularly like the little unique percussion hits throughout the drum loop. And the more aggressive main saw-like melodic lead is also really cool. Nice work!!!

Thanks! There are lots of fun timbres hiding in the FM Synth. The temptation to get a Digitone II is held at bay, for now. wink

This is a good challenge for me. I've been relying on samples too much as of late. Especially on my own M8, when it's completely unnecessary.

Love how snappy the bd is. All the percussion is tight. Gives everything a very light, airy feel.

I hear what you're saying about the progression though. It's bouncing between a double-time and a half-time feel, which I love. But some anticipation going into/out of those segments might go a long way.

It's very solid, though it does feel like it needs just one something, maybe a little whimsy.
