BAD CANDY

By LeBernd on March 10, 2024 10:15 pm

Y'all know the Bad Candy. It makes everything Caps Lock.

Made a Wavsynth Patch on the M8, wrote a line with 6-voice polyphony over 6 tracks of the M8 and used internal MIDI to morph all voices of the synth patch simultaneously. Worked nicely, and then I didn't feel like continuing to write mellow synth music one voice at a time and did what slowly manifests as my go-to to keep things fun: I went full chaos gremlin. This is nice and dreamy and lush? Time to clock you over the head with some nasty ass bass boiiii

Also continued to use the Reverb Freeze creatively in conjunction with gating it using Aux Tables. Muting the Delay and Reverb and morphing/cutting sounds to get out of the way of the main bass also makes it sound SUPER HUGE, but it's really not. The limiter is barely doing anything!

So yeah, I'm happy with this weeks beat, although I'm hoping to become a bit more organized as the year goes on!

Awesome bass sound. Need to try that technique myself!

Love the contrast with slow tempo with the kickass dirty bass and the dnb drums in the mid section. Very cool.

Nice one. Damn those "missing times" at the end were fun too!

Love the positive playful vibe of this. Bad ass breaks help too. Your sense of pride on this one is well deserved.

I was really surprised how much impact just muting the reverb on the bass hits has. I also just engaged a Bandpass on the lead sound when it overlapped with the bass. Go wild! In

Thank you very much. Some of those might not have been fully intentional! wink

Thank you. Hope I didn't come across as a show-off! big_smile
But yeah, I think playfulness is my main drive to keep this up on a weekly basis.

Oh yes. This is GOOD candy. So smooth and upbeat with such positive vibes. I love your lead melody.

Perfectly encapsulates the Feeling of eating sour Candy big_smile
Also equaly addicting tongue

Such sweet candy. How can something so bad be so good.

Life hack: Transpose a bunch! Never thought to do that before, but then I found I had never used the TSP command on the M8 before, and that happened to be just what I needed. smile
