Synthetic swag

Not exactly completed, but quite a decent song in terms of work put into it. It was born out of a drum beat built around one of the suckiest beat boxes ever: the Yamaha RX21. I don't mean to diss anyone taste, but I find the Yamaha RX family so boring that I built one kit in Ableton and challenged myself to create some swinging breaks out of it.

A lot of overdrive, virtual amp cabinets and eq after, I think it had some decent groove to it.

The rest is some doodling in Absynth (those bell/pads) that gave the early melodic brackground, then the bassline, then the additional high pitched synths built from a boring bell patch and then resampled.

I wanted to add some cool vocal samples, but the early ones I thought were ideal didn't work, so I ran out of time. Anyway, I'm somehow happy with the result.

Hope you like my little bumpy tune. Lots of love to you, WB people, all around the world smile

that kick's got a THUMP to it. I dig the groove.

funky beat, with that floaty vibe up top, got me bustin self-reflective moves

That synth is giving Grandmaster Flash vibes!

Beat is dope!  Despite the shortcomings of the source material created a really nice sound with the added effects, I’m always drawn to these boom bap sounding drums.
