See you in the next galaxy

By laguna on December 29, 2024 11:58 pm

After a whole year that has been quite rough, personally and professionaly, Weekly Beats has come to an end. I haven't been very present within the community, and I've missed many streaks of fantastic songs, though you can't imagine how important is the challenge and the motivation every week. No matter how dark things could become, I did my best to not miss my appointment

I think my final work of the year wanted to be Berlin School but I ended with some sort of cosmic reggaeton... Whatever. It makes me kinda happy

I'm going to miss you, my global family of complete strangers. Would love to hear back from you during 2025. There's so much music and so much talent... it's amazing.

Lots and lots of love to everyone of you, wherever you are.

Have the best 2025 you could get... And don't miss our appointment in 2026 !!!

love the spacey vibes, but the beat steals the show. it’s got that sharl snap and groove to it. so many tiny variations over the course of the track that just kept me engaged.

loved it.

Thanks a lot, JBarket! It really was intended to be a Berlin School floating ambient track, though I found it going nowhere. I added a simple dembow-reggaeton-dancehall beat to it using a 909 kit, intending to do some modulations to the audio, and accidentaly stumbled onto this quite lively drumkit that eat almost all my CPU!

Long story short, I ended going along with the beat path and use some major chords for a change.

Thanks again for listening and dropping by. I wish you a really promising new 2025 !!!

I understand the feeling, no matter what was happening in life there was that appointment and desire to get something finished for the week.  This track has a really nice flow, could keep listening to those airy pads, and agree with above that is a nice beat, love that rimshot sound.  All the best in the new year and will be back in 2026!

Whoah, thanks a lot, Jason! Yes, WB is a commitment that, while sometimes very hard to mantain, never becomes "a chore".

It's that feeling when you look back and discover literally hundreds of songs and ask "Did I really make all those? By myself?". It becomes a habit. A pretty nice one smile

Thanks a lot for listening and giving comments. I know I haven't been that active, so extra thankful to discover someone actually listening.

Glad you enjoyed the track. I really hope to finally finish an EP of "polished" tracks this year smile

Have the best 2025 possible!!! See you in 12 months smile

I agree with what they said :-) The track's harmony reminded me of Biosphere's microgravity album, although the beat is totally different.

Sorry I wasn't around much, man. Been thinking about you, though. I agree that it's great to have this community and to know that y'all are writing so much great music. Keep it up, and let me know if you ever want to collaborate again.

Peace

Happy New Year, Man! No worries. My year was quite rough so I was also afraid of make any collab commitments, though I'll be delighted to work in something together again. Plus, back in our last one, we didn't have all those Live Chat and Video apps kids have today. Don't hesitate to contact me. It would be my pleasure.

I have to check out that album (Biosphere's). Thanks for the tip.

Have a great 2025, and drop me a line, please smile

This is some ambient reggaeton, very calm and serene. I dig that. Love the mood, a fitting finish to Weekly Beats 2024! We did it! Hope 2025 treats you well.

beautiful closer, laguna. i love the way the beat dances back and forth over these peaceful pads!
i hope 2025 is kinder to you (and all of us).
take care heart
