Pocket paradise

By laguna on July 20, 2014 11:08 pm

Still recovering from a badly cured summer cold, this week I rescued some preject from 3 or 4 years ago.

Not sure what direction to take, I didn't want to create another "phat beats" routine. Maybe the rhythm is not going anywhere but ... Maybe it's better to leave it this was and make a remix if not happy.

Made with Ableton Live 9 with some Max4Live synths and Arturia miniBrute for aditional bleeps.

This is insane, in a totally good way. Lovin' it.

I thought I needed to close the window to silence the crickets when the song started.  Then I realized that was the song starting.  Then it just got better and better.

Thanks Jim. I was quite lost creating this one, so I'm glad people are enjoying

Hahaha Crickets with beat repeat, I think... Thanks for the compliments, Edmund smile

Craziness! Love the swing when the drums kick in! Very good

Love the groove in this one. Well done!

Sounds awesome. My favorite is the saw pad.

On a semi-related note, I think I know what you mean about not knowing where to go. Sometimes it's hard to keep on creating out of your own stuff. I find playing some classical music helpful at that point because it enriches your music in a way that just listening doesn't, at least for me. Anyway...

Love the texture of sounds throughout especially that rubberbandish bit.  Nice job!  I saw Twisted-Electrons posted your track too!  w00t! smile

I completely agree, Colorful Grey. Shame is i can't play any instrument and my harmonic skills are very very limited. Sometimes if I have the time, I enjoy listening to tracks with a notebook, trying to dissasemble their structure.

Ib this precise moment, I'm stuck with this week's production. Basic idea is done, but I don't know how to make the arrngement shine and keep the listener's interest.

Thanks for listening and the compliments , by the way smile

nice and chilly. just like the backyard I am sitting in right now, having a little breakfast and watching the cat hide in a sukkulent plant. maybe you should check your sukkulents, too!

You're very welcome. I didn't mean to come across as snooty or anything - nothing special about playing a classical instrument. Your harmonic skills are not limited, I can assure you that after listening to your tracks :-)

Thanks man! I'm very flattered for being featured on a manufacturer site! I posted a link to my track and Alex, the guy behind the AY3, liked the track and the fact that the synth is the main ingredient on it.

Ah, and i love that "rubbberband" name you gave it... I should make a preset and call it like that! smile

great variety and very creative use of filters and fx. I like the sort of lofi boxy feeling.

This is groove-alicious! Excellent! smile
