This is my first (failed) attempt at a whole track using FL Studio. Proficient WB geniuses like iPaghost used this DAW and I've always been intrigued, though my lack of skill kept me from finishing the project in time, so I had to run to my trusted Ableton in order to finish it.

The interface is so different that I spent most of the time in frustration. I hope to get more comfortable through the year.

Mastering is almost non existant because I was running with a super-quick install of Lite 10, so neither fancy limiters nor my whole collection of rack presets. The mix was in the red and I didn't have the time to fix it.

Built while browsing through the install samples of FL Studio, learning the most basic tools. No bassline because I couldn't find a bass synth on time.

I think the idea is kinda neat, though the execution is way amateurish. Anyway, I'm willing to get out of my confort zone for a while and learn new methods.

Thank you all for the kind comments last week. I'll catch up as soon as I can.

Have a nice weekend wherever you are in this beautiful planet smile

Cool track. Minimal, but still getting a lot of mileage with what you have. The track, even without bassline still holds up. I quite what you did with the percussion.

Using a different DAW is a great way to get out of the comfort zone. This year, I'm doing that with Logic coming from Ableton and Pro Tools.

this sounds fine to me...? Sorry it was frustrating but end result is good. i really like the drum break section in the middle

Oh yes!! Where is LPaghost? The professor and godfather????? Your song is absolutely fine, too.

Diggin the groove of this beat.  Takes me back to some of Aphex's early 90s ambient tunes.  That's quite the challenge to throw yourself for WB with learning a new DAW.  My ableton template is setup for productivity right now and I've been meaning to learn some new plugins but I would def get frustrated trying to learn a whole new daw environment.  I'm just now feeling like I remember keyboard shortcuts haha.  Totally understandable.  Though I totally wouldn't have known about the use of both daws.  It sounds just fine! smile

switching DAWs is always a huge challenge, I keep trying to do other things than mixing/wav file arrangements in Reaper and always run back to Renoise XD

I bought Live years ago and never even tried to use it x_X ... now I stupidly bought the upgrade to 12 so let's see what happens when it comes out yikes

Cool little beat though, perfect for weeklybeats big_smile

stepping into the dark to make the uncomfortable comfortable is such a rewarding experience. I changed my keyboard layout a few years back from querty to Norman just to wire up some new pathways. Couldn't type at all for a couple of weeks and then bam. Cool track the rewards will continue to flow in.

Wonderful soothing sounds, sounds lovely to me smile
