Got an early start this week, tracking guitar and drums on Monday. Unfortunately because I was in an open tuning, I broke a string on my guitar, and I don't really have a good way to get replacements for the foreseeable future so that may be that for acoustic guitar for weekly beats for awhile.
Tuesday I tracked most other instruments and did some experiments with the glockenspiel, running it through my guitar pedalboard (which did stick in the track).
Wednesday I recorded piano to a cassette voice recorder and ran that through the pedals as well, then re-recorded the vocals.
Thursday mix and upload.
bring me the head of the man who sold you out
an era draws to a close
I admit we have looked the other way
please accept our apologies
loading coal and treading water
bring back the air, so unfair
when the breeze hits you'll be
overwhelmed with thoughts of teachers and the selfish preachers, darlin'
tell us the tale of the whale who drank the sea
she was washed up just like you
and your friends who would trade their mortal souls
for a drop of bourbon
rocketeers and glamour haulers
take me away, time to play
when the gale hits you'll be
blown away and sent to someone
else who might know what to do
with your bad ideas
flowing out of your mouth like the bilge that's keeping you afloat now
Instruments:
acoustic guitar
electric guitar with and without sustainer
bass guitar
drums (four toms and a stack of broken cymbals played with medium hard timpani mallets)
glockenspiel through pedals
piano/tape recorder through pedals
jingle bells
