remake of a song from July of last year's daily songs
original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgjEyiXXQJs
I also used a small portion of this song, also from last year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrwel2aL7RQ - I think there may be more room to combine these songs
I also used a sample from Hainbach's Isolation Loops soundpack: https://hainbach.bandcamp.com/album/isolation-loops-soundpack

I am as of yet still employed, but the nature of my job has changed significantly, so I've had to adjust my weekly beats creative schedule.
Monday and Tuesday was kindof the panic mode time as we figured out what was going on. I had to bring a bunch of things in from outside due to impending rain so I had to make space by packing away my acoustic drums.
Tuesday or Wednesday I managed to track drum machine and guitar. I was unsure what the layout of the song would be so I recorded the verse and chorus riffs over the entire 6 minute drum machine pattern I had recorded, with the intent to carve away whatever I didn't need.
Friday I got back to it, and livestreamed on Facebook, tracking vocals, synth & bass. Livestreaming was fun and I'll probably keep doing it. I wound up expanding to fit, using the entire 6 minutes, as I tend to do when I take this approach.
Saturday - mix, master, & upload

something happened with the bitrate for this project between my interface and the recording software, so I had to export it at half speed and then modify the bitrate, annoying

Has a very Sonic Adventure kind of feel to it - especially when that synth lead kicks in.  Nice work!

I dig this. Sort of a scrappy, loose vibe. I am really liking the rhythm guitar work here and the interplay between synth lead and vox.

Great composition, it all just fits.

Ok, I had to look up the OST but I think I hear what you're talking about... thanks! smile

Thank you! I'm in a weird place between planning my arrangements ahead and working with what happens. I view these tunes as demos essentially, but I try to put some real effort into mixing and production in an effort to practice that.

Thank you! Counterpoint is a big part of my compositional aesthetic.

Love the guitars in this track, too. It fits really nice with your vocal style, and the two work together really great.
