The Space In Between

By Kedbreak136 on May 29, 2022 12:28 pm

I had a good riff this week, a good seed for a track, but somehow it never grew into what I thought it could become. This is the arpeggios that plays on top of the heavy drums. I like it, and I find it inspiring, but could not quite get it to work. It's as if there is a very cool track and image that is there, just out of reach, one of these dreams you can't quite remember feeling. I'll keep that seed and will replant one of these days to see if I can reach it.

In the meantime, a track is a track.

I really dig the arpeggio line and how it fits with the drums. I hope at some point you can find what you need to make it into what you're looking for. It's really catchy and has a great driving power behind it. I also like the way you drop into the quieter section. Feels like there's a lot in this track you could play with and tweak to eventually get to what you want, though I also like it just the way it is.

The intro had a nice ethereal feel to it and then the drums come in hard with great energy.  The quieter midsection was cool too and added a nice contrast.  I totally get the disappointment of not achieving what you had in mind, but this is a nice result as is.  If nothing else, as you say, a good seed for a future track.

Oh man, those arpeggios at the beginning give me strong vibes of Disasterpeace's "Beta's Brilliancy" (it's not the same, as his is more of a noise than clear arps like yours) and I immediately love it for that reason. I think this track is pretty rad in its current state, although I really know that feeling of having a vision and not capturing it and not being satisfied with the outcome. Experiment more with that sound you used for the arps though, maybe you'll zero in on the sound you were looking for smile

the buildup to this energetic mainriff is awesome. very powerful and cinematic sounds. love this one.

Damn, I hate when that happens.  Still very cool though even if this isn't what you had in mind.  Digging the running sound effects in here, works very well with the music.  The screechy bowed sounding instrument around 2:20 is excellent.  What is that?

Nice transition from the intro to energetic drums, this has a very cinematic feel, love how most of your tracks have a story to tell within them.

Maybe you need to see it at a different angle, this isn't a space song, this is an action sequence.

action scene vibes. the main character is searching for something very important. sounds really cool, a lot of depth in the sound layers. great work!

I can totally get the feeling from your track that you are being chased.  I love the chords, and melody you played here.  Great work!

Love that "i forgot what i forgot" .. I know that feeling when something just doesn't quite get there, but this is a fun listen! That arp riff moves. The intro and interlude textures are really cool. Love the bigger bass comes in after the out of breath vocal sample around 2 mins. Feel like I'm cruising though hyperspace here.

Very, very, dope track. The second part's explosive cymbals that sound like they're flying off in the distance with every hit (emily's gif 100%) are nothing short of spectacular, and I love the ABABA sections because I sincerely love both the A's "beautiful caged animal" anxiety and the manic banging drums. Your own write up does not do this one justice, this is RAWKING.

Super cinematic feels throughout this awesome track.  The arps sound great especially in how deep the bassy tones are.  Love the cymbal crashes and how they play off the arps.

Action packed! Those arps pack a lot of drama! Very nice change ups at the midpoint to reset for the action of the second half.

that pitch shift at the end of the drum measure is OUTSTANDING

and you have that VHS tape warble (the first sound of the track), how did you do that?  Ableton as a synth that has some warble built-in, but I know you don't use Ableton.

Great job!
