The Last Convoy

By Kedbreak136 on June 5, 2022 2:11 am

Maybe this is a track about leaving one's planet, knowing that there is never coming back, and one last time, touching the earth and smelling the air. Or maybe it is about last moments, thinking back about life. Things could have been better, but one did the best they could. All the bitterness, regrets, all of this is just blowing away with the wind, leaving only gratitude.

The track originated from the guitar melody that appears mid point, which then turned into a galactic synthwave vibe. It felt kind blank, it was not really gelling. As i was trying to make it click, a library of sitar samples caught my eyes - the perfect kind of sonic texture and organic sound to complement electronic music. I chose a few samples that I twisted and transformed and here we are. A little pinch of spaceship flyby samples and other hyperspace samples and here we are for Week 22.

Samples come from Splice, including the wonderfull Organic library and on of the KJ Sawka's drum samples.

This sci-fi energy you've been tapping into lately with your songs is quite inspiring to me (as I'm trying to integrate something similar into my music at the moment for a project). The string arrangements on this are really great too, I love those acoustic interlude combined with the sitar.

I really like the sense of scale in this track. It's got a great epic feel to it. The sitar sounds great; I wouldn't have thought it would fit as well as it does!

really cool drops every time they happen big_smile the guitar sounds pretty synthetic, adds to the scifi vibe, like it's a bit of robot music reminiscent of the old earth of 2022 as seen in 2222... sitar is always a great addition big_smile great storytelling in this track as always! well done!

I can see the trails of rockets taking off never to return. I love the sense of purpose and motion in this, it makes me want to go off travelling somewhere. Great tune.

I quite like the break with the classical guitar.

This is another good track from Kedbreak136. Fun fact, a plane did pass not too far on the second part of your track and it did fit great...

A la prochaine.

it is a big story you are telling us. the humans leaving the earth forever. WOW. How beautiful you integrated the sitar and accusic guitar as symbols of the human spirit, that belongs to the earth and not the galaxy.
there is an epic spirit, as also a certain melancholy and of course a tragedy going on. very well done.

I like the epic overall feel combined with the quieter interludes.  The latter really bring that sense of wistfulness of leaving Earth for the last time.  The sitars are a super nice touch.

This is insane, I love the blend of the spacious adventure synth vibes twined together with the epic oriental sounding lead sitar(?). You've even got an eagle coming in there in between the sci-fi sonic cargo you deliver straight to our eardrums. Fantastic!

Loving the sci-fi goodies lately.  It's like a Vangelis meets Zimmerstellar combo lately.  The sitar sounds awesome as well as all the cool drum sounds.  That Sawka kit is always fun to play with especially on fills.  There isn't a dull moment in this track.  Even in the quiet reserved parts you have the melody developing.  Really cool and inspiring work.  Well done!

Whatever it's about, it's completely epic

Kedbreak tunes don't go hard they go INTERDIMENSIONAL. I'm really partial to the sitar section, but the guitar (that I read is the root) is great. (You ability to turn contradictions into form and commit to making things work is inspiring. For example, the eagle screech should be humorous, it's a ridiculous sound, but is just awesome instead.) Kudos.

Oh man, I love the instrumentation on this one.  Such an unlikely awesome combo of sounds that work great together.  Quite epic at the end too!

Woo, yes. It is all the things you describe. Here we go! Full sound, love that sitar lead, love that a lot.  This goes on nice journey, That guitar is great too. A calm moment in this big journey. Eagles rule.

Ooooh... Love the swelling intro! Holy shit, what an epic synth line emerging at 0:38! The sitar solos are straight up scifi spaghetti western. This sounds like a full on space western! Here's my take: The protagonist is meeting his fate in one last showdown where they reflect on their troubled past... One last unfinished pieces of business to dealt with and then gods willing, they have a chance of leaving the planet and starting over.  Sorry if I NWSPR-splained your song smile Love this... maybe a follow up track to tell what happened next?

Gorgeous work. Digging the beat especially, and nice work with the sitar melody!

This is epic, and gorgeous.  Love the analog sounds in this song.  Truly transports you on a journey.  Love the Sitar(?). Great work!

This is kind of like a "classic Kedbreak" track to me.  The synthwave undercurrent, the driving beats (kedbreakbeats), but some exciting ethnic/world instruments, and the a light dusting of samples to create the visual for the movie that plays in your mind.

Incredible ending with the flybys.  That last one is awesome and the eagle is like "see you later!"
