Subliminal

I went to an M8 event in Shibuya past Saturday and I must say that it made me want a M8! It was great meeting a lot of WBers (they really do exist, this community is not just a fragment of my imagination), and inspiring to see the diversity of music that could be done with the M8. From the labyrynthic and jazz-like lines of Uraboroshii, the pop singing of Tobokegao, the transcendental vibes of Bryface, the aetheral tracks from Azuria Sky, and the aggressive intense and melodic lines from Trash80. That was inspiring so I guess it made me want to get some arps out for this week. Here we go.

Really cool track. Love how as a listener you don't know what's coming next - not having read the description before listening I was expecting something ambient-y at first, so it was such a cool moment when the arp came in. Second cool moment was when the music suddenly stops halfway through. Amazing stuff

The arps do indeed sound great and bring some nice energy.  Sounds like an inspiring event.  It would be cool to meet some other WBers in real life for sure.

The M8 looks so sublime and yes people are making amazing music with it, hardest part for me would be learning the workflow, but that pocket size of it is so appealing.  Great energy from the arps on this one, like that growling synth lurking in the background.

excellent! and how cool that you were able to meet up irl

The arps wiggle just right. Drums sound the right amount of loose. I like the breakdown, my fave part of this, fun. So cool you met WBers and that they exist! I have noticed a lot of M8 love on here for sure.

this is a fun celebration!

Yeah, I was pretty bummed when I learned about the Shibuya event being just a few weeks outside of my visit to Japan. Glad you went!

The track moves nicely, reminds me of "synthwave horror" like Carpenter Brut.

Ooof those arps with the drums fills **chefskeese** Feels like data is being uplinked to a site and the baddies are after me! Awesome chord progression at the 2min mark yes! \m/ great job loved the sound of this!

Thank you! The fact that you felt that the track was surprising in its progression is a very nice compliment. Thank you very much!

Thank you! The M8 looks very interesting but is currently sold out. Need to wait for the next batch!

As cool as you can imagine. And people were just very nice overall!

Yes! We need to have more in real life events with WBers. Kinda difficult with geography being what it is and the speed of light limiting everything but we gotta do our best.

Thank you! That's right, just a few weeks after you left! But there might be M8fest around your area as well!

Thank you very much Mr Matrix!

I've always been curious on the M8 myself but fortunately for my wallet, my brain just doesn't gel with the tracker workflow which is weird.  I can do super complex modular patching, max msp but not tracking.

You should totally get one as I could imagine you creating your classic bangers on one.  The M8s really seem to have a certain groove/sound to them too.
