Robot Disco (Shake those servo motors)

By Kedbreak136 on August 9, 2020 8:51 am

A few of my tracks were removed from weeklybeats because I used samples from movies. Yes, the IP laws are tough so be careful where you get your samples from! I felt slightly bummed because that means there are holes now in 2020 weeks submissions. It must be upsetting my OCD side.

Anyway, this week I went with a simple track put together in a few hours with a lot of robotic samples (straight from splice and open source libraries, not gonna do the mistake again). Shake your servo motors to that sound! Synths are Sytrus and Flex, with also the good old supertron vst.

Bummer about the tracks being removed.  I totally get the OCD thing.  This is a super groovy track and matches the gif perfectly.  Sweet robot sounds and great energy that makes me want to get on the dance floor and shake it with the Benders.

That intro riff made me laugh because it kind of makes me think of robo-country music? But then the shift into the main riff when the drums come in made me laugh again; it's such a great transition and so catchy. I never expected it. There are many great surprises in this track, I'm impressed it was the result of just a few hours work.

Hell yeah man, such a jam.  Love when the beat comes in, so intense.  Badass baselines at 1:00 and 1:20 too.

Ooof, I'm so sorry you lost a few songs sad There's been a few songs this year where I added a sample but removed it before submission because I was paranoid about that kind of thing happening. And I totally feel you on the OCD thing, I've put out a few absolute stinkers because I couldn't stand the idea of having a gap in my weeks haha.

As for your submission this week, it's a pretty fun sounding track! I like the chaotic groove from the arp sequence, I kind of want to pick it apart and see what's happening there theory-wise.

I love the bitcrushed voices! Tbh all the synth work is awesome here. Sweet tune!

Unfortunate, but thems the breaks.

Nice groove though.

I am sorry for the removal of your songs. You could replace the samples and load the missing songs up again until the end of 2020. The holes will remain, but the songs will be back in a new form. So your stuff will be saved. this song is so cuted and fun to listen to. very well done.

I have holes in my 2020 but it's because I didn't submit a few times! At least you can rest knowing you submitted every week.

Cool track, very groovy smile

Man that sucks. Same thing happened to me as well haha.
But this track is pretty funky tho. It kinda gives me modern indie game OST feels

ooo that funk at 1:20 is great.
just like others said, great work!

Love how the beat kicks in from the intro.  I like the bassline with the disco drums.  It has a DaftPunkish vibe to it.  The robotic samples are really cool especially how they're panned in the stereo field.

Sorry to hear about your removed tracks. I also missed a week recently because my computer broke down. So I definitely feel you on that sensation of incompleteness.
Very funky and interesting track and impressive that you composed this in such a small amount of time! Well done!

Hey, I was wondering where you disappeared to.  Thought you took a break! Don't feel bad, I missed week one because I spaced out while tweaking EQs.  This is a rad electro disco track with tight synth melodies and funky servo percussion. Happy to see you're back!

Haha that would be the Supertron VST, which is really "make the Tron Legacy soundtrack on the press of a button".

I also took one week of vacations, disconnected and that helped. The downside is that i did not have much time to listen to many tracks last week and will catch up.

Haha, wacky fun time track here!  Almost a retro disco vibe at times.  Sucks about the song removal.  Was it caught by an algorithm or mod?

Daaannnnngggggg. Loving this track. This is durn good. The whick sound that plays in the background and underlies the sequenced bit keeps the track driving ahead.
