Plastic Monkeys (and Winged Hippos)

By Kedbreak136 on May 31, 2020 11:40 am

I lacked inspiration this week and went for a random mix of goa trance inspired track with servo motors, digital plikploks, marimbas and other random stuff. Plastic monkeys flying in the pink sky and golden robots riding winged hippos. That kind of vibe.

Now I finally understand what you meant by plastic monkeys and winged hippos. Love the electronic sound that comes in at around 00:49. What is that?

Love the servo motor sample.  Sounds killer.  Cool melodies mixed with those plucky synth tones.  Nice one!

Today... I love... Plastic monkeys flying in the pink sky and golden robots riding winged hippos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Very cOoL!

Very clever use of some of these samples, especially the servo motor.  What a neat idea.  Cool track you've created here.  Lots of energy.

Jesus. Theres so much going on here. If pink monkeys flying in the pink sky with golden robots riding winged hippps was the vibe you were going for...I think you nailed it.

This is so cool. The melodies, the sounds, the space. What an experience this was

That's an arpeggiator from FLEX in FLStudio. It has this noise component that works very nicely.

I think I stole the servo motor idea from Thieves by Ministry. How appropriate. smile

No one can argue against plastic monkeys nor winged hippos.

Thank you for listening. smile

Thieves, liars, thieves, liars!  'insert servo motor'

The insistent beat really keeps this thing moving and there are some really cool sonic textures in there.  I like the kind of Middle Eastern vibe that pops up also.  This really covers a lot of ground in a relatively short amount of time.

Those servo sounds are killer! Doing robocop head bob to the beat. Great techno sound! Percussion and synths  are hardcore!

Mad fun vibe. Yep, I can see those darn plastic monkeys and winged hippos. I actually pictured the monkeys flying around with little servo motor gun things. Wildness. Great samples and sounds all around.

yes, this is a fantasic journey with a funny plactic-robbotic accommpaniment. A+++
