Dimensional Strike

By Kedbreak136 on September 29, 2024 9:12 am

A track inspired by the third book in the trilogy of the 3 body problem. Dimensional strike. You don't want to watch too closely.

Beautifully cinematic/atmospheric!

Damn, that was terrifying! I only watched episode one of the new Netflix show and it seems really cool!
I haven't read the books but I feel like you've captured the oppressive and mysterious tone really well. Great job!

Amazing! Love the textures and the way those instruments sound. They sound like sax's or trombones with some strings playing behind them, adding tension. Congratulations!

Haven't seen the show yet, but thought the books were amazing.  Especially the third one.  The dimensional strike weapon was cool and also terrifying.  I like how this sounds kind of spacy and also captures the fear and tension such an attack would cause.

Arguably this fits the spooky theme neon liminal is talking about this week! Literally a horror soundtrack here. Chilling!

I've still yet to check out the series but this track is killer.  Love those opening tones and then nothing but menace and unknown alien forces follow.  Awesome stuff!

Whatever this is all about, it is not a cute kitten. I will not open the door and let it in.

Lots of tense moments. Great execution. Really feels like you are being watched and you can't escape.

I was excited to read the books but the Netflix show really turned me off of it. There were so many good scifi ideas but it's dragged down by cartoonish relationships, coincidence, and characters. The best parts were the cultural revolution sections. That felt real. The exposition and 2d relationships were incredibly frustrating. I just don't think I can get through all of that again in the books.

The sound design in this track is incredible (as always).  I really love the unpredictable and erratic movement of the kind of horn and woodwind like sounds through out... it really creates a strong sense of unease, and kind of impending peril.  Masterful use of movement.

When the third strike so bad, the umpire sends you to a different dimension.

Oooh, super creepy and little discombobulating, but all in a good way, really fun to listen to, I dig it. I enjoyed the first book and the show, not sure if I'll do the rest of the books, but now I'm tempted to learn more about this weapon!

Wonderfully disturbing. The bass swells and rumbles in particular really create a nice undertone structure for the more dissonant and unsettling woodwinds/brass/strings throughout the piece. Really spooky!

whoa this is intense  yikes
love the sound choices and how you have everything mixed. i may not leave the house this weekend now!
nice work, kedbreak
