This is one of those frustrating Weekly Beats tracks that I spent too much time on but it didn't quite come together. It feels too good to throw it all away and try to bang out a track in a couple of days, but it also doesn't feel quite good enough for submission. Maybe it was the 6/8 time signature. Oh well.
Ended up as kind of a mashup between a southern murder mystery and a dilapidated sci-fi colony ship.

Nice groove, I enjoyed the 6/8 time sig which works well. Maybe adding just a little more swing would do the trick ? But it can also bring in even more of these « murder mystery » feels you are talking about haha

It's very solid, the signature is definitely not the problem. What I'm thinking is maybe the lead needs to be punchier. Like, if you replace it with a sax, you get the best vibe.
