Always nice to breathe new life into these older songs.  It's like we're collaborating with out past selves.  (I've been revisiting a 22 year old song for the purpose of live performance recently.)

You're really good at nailing that cozy vibe and this one is no exception.  It feels nostalgic and like sinking into a well-worn favorite sofa in the best way possible.

awe i love this heart

I doubled dosed my jwh today. Beautiful song. What astounds me though is the space in this mix! It absolutely surrounds me, I feel like I'm standing right in the middle of the band. Just amazing work, love it heart

Oof totally agree with Cosmic Cairns on the cozy sofa vibes.  Swingin and a swaying with the sweet drums that hit so nicely with the delayed piano and guitar.  Love the vocal harmonies too.  Hooray for the Song Rescue Files! *jumps and pauses in mid-air*

wow, this is excellent. For real! Listening to past WB tracks because I've been missing out. Makes me think of a more melancholic the clientele. Not only is the song itself so good but the mix sounds great too.

AHHHHH VIBES! The moment this started I was immediately into this. Those big lush guitars, that laid back beat, the sentimental and soft vocal lines, just perfection. Definitely favoriting and listening to it again. Stellar work dude.

Glad you revived this one! Agreed on the mix, so spacious. You always create an amazing vibe

A diamond from the basement. How was the recording situation those days? Did you use multi tracker and DAT tapes?

Awesome!

that is so nice to hear! we worked really hard to get this mix dialed in. Bil did some (excellent) pre-mixing with the tracks he sent over, and he is a space wizard so that was super helpful. thanks so much for listening so closely  heart

thank you, Q-Rosh! so i wrote the basics of this one years ago, but don't think i ever recorded it (although i may have done a quick sketch back then so i didn't forget it, but if so it is long gone). so yeah, these are new tracks. sorry if my comments were confusing.
i'm trying to remember what i would have been using to record back then. i started by doing boombox cassette recordings and eventually was able to access a 4-track. i think in the early 2000's i was primarily using a Yamaha AW 16G digital multitrack. or tracking with friends who had better recording tools.
nowadays i'm mainly using Reaper on my laptop with a Universal Audio interface.  smile

Such lovely texture - the piano, synths, bass, drums, etc everything meshes so nicely and has a really light quality. The vocals/lyrics seal the deal! Glad to hear this one rescued smile

love the trips to the vault, glad this one made it out

Great job seeing this one completed after all these years, really nice laid back vibe to this one and as always your vocals hit that sweet spot.

thank you, Jason!

I love the vocal layering in this one... lovely arrangement too.  Interesting juxtaposition with the lyrics as well, it's like a darkly contemplative lullaby... in the best possible way.

thank you, Friend! and interesting that you said that as my track this week (holy carps it's sunday, i better get it wrapped up and posted yikes ) is literally a lullaby  heart

Ohhh, really nice! Happy this got resurrected, well worth it. heart

Amazing! Yes, the mix is very good! Might use as a reference in the future… Very interesting lyrics, still trying to figure out exactly what is going on. In the beginning I felt like it was something gruesome but then it changed the more i read the lyrics. Something very special in that you have revived the song after so long and that nostalgia is somehow inherent to the song.

Feels like the voice of a person's subconscious inner knowing us singing this song, while waiting to be noticed and brought up to the surface..

Nice rescue! Enjoyed listening. Your voice sounds great. So neat to hear this was an oldy, it's a goody.
