Ooh, nice that you did different versions. I'm liking a little of both. Your snare and bass are more my speed for example. heart And I like a little of that grit and reverb on the jwh arrangement.

...cut and past fail!

These fusions of your sound are always a treat. big_smile Was not expecting the trap beat and I love the way it clicks with the rest of the instrumentation. Nice work, both of you!

Ah, the monthly collab has been a nice treat all year long so far and such interesting and varied results.  The particular process for this one sounds pretty fun.  I like how this one turned out.  It has the warm cozy sound you do so well, but it feels like there's a little bit of an unexpected edge to it, too, in a good way.

ooooh loving the trip hop vibes from you both heart The drums sound great in the mix! That addictive riff has such a cool sound to it. Had me doing a head nod \m/

Freaking masterpiece. When is the JWH/Emily trip hop collab project coming? It's gonna destroy with the feels heart

I love checking out your submissions every week but it's extra special with these fun collabs. the way you two got this one done sounds SUPER fun. requires too much talent for me to do this now but hoping to get there.

chef's kiss on the sound design. love the chord progression and the sparse melodics around it. what's playing the chords? heavily distorted EP or something?  very cool track

That keyboard thru saturation sounds so cool. Love the trip hop vibes.

Awesome collab. You two rocks!

We love a colab!

Such a great grinding synth / organ sound and awesome vocals coming at me from every angle.

Oh yes sir!  This track hits all the right spots for me, will be playing this one on repeat.  I really like the idea of how you two put this together, such a nice gritty yet clear sound to it all.  That horn like synth at 1:24 is just so lovely.

Lovely poem, lovely collab. that drawing (and music majing) game sounds fun!

*music making

Harmonies and the back round vocals hit hard in this! Love this

Love the crunchyness and the vocal harmonies. It's delight to see what the two of you cook up separately and together.

So cool. Amazing work. Going to listen to the other version now!

Sweet, really cool to hear you guys tackle a more electronic style.
Working together like that once a month sounds like an awesome experience smile

thank you, monstret! i think that was a piano loop. you can hear it closer to it's original sound at the beginning of emily's version. i ran it through this TUPE plugin (from Goodhertz) that i like a lot. i wasn't planning on distorting it so much, but once i heard it with all that saturation i was like O.O
i also used a gate on it that was sidechained from the drumbeat, and that kinda gave it that chopped up sound.

if djippy the rocker says we rock, then we must truly rock.   big_smile

BIG HUGS TO ALL OF YOU heart

Ooh another collab, daf!

"Kiss the weeds, the flowers may never return."
It's bleak, it's heart breaking, but it's also weirdly hopeful. Like ripping off a bandaid and soldiering on. Instrumental sounds great, too!

thank you, Leo! and yeah, i was reading Sarah Kendzior's "Last American Road Trip" and she mentioned seeing some graffiti with that phrase. it felt so poignant to me.
let's keep going  heart

Love that industrial feel pulsing through the piece along and the electronic percussion in juxtaposition with the organic vocals and dirty guitars?

Very cool indeed.
