Gosh this was fun! Jimmy the chippy might be a jerk face but he's inspiring some great musical ideas! Really loved all the glitchy bits at the start and throughout, and as always, the space in the mix and vocals is amazing!

The beginning was almost a little frightening, but it settled into something much more friendly and bouncy. Sounds like Jimmy is a bit of a mixed blessing.

oof! love the sound of the fuzzy guitars in this. Gave me some Beastie Boys vibes when they did their instrumentals with the intro and drum groove. Dang that chipmunk! Guess he needed some spice for dinna. Crickets appreciated as well

Oh this is trashy and fun. Loved how the beginning just sort of lurched and heaved about....and then within the next 20 seconds there were harmony guitars and layered vocals. Awesome. Jimmy may be a jerk, but yeah, at least you got a cool track out of it

Very innovative and experimental. Still real official Indie music. Love how your vocals remind me of Arcade fire.
Your pizza seems to be hot and spicy. Just like the track is.

Ohhh this is so much fun haha, the drums are insane and all the guitar parts are bonkers in a good way. Curse you, Jimmy! I was just listening to your (I think) last track using the drumprints again and I remembered that I wanted to come back to them some time and try to use them as well.

ha - it scared me too! that intro came about when i was setting the fadeout for the end of the song. i accidentally hit play a few times on that last crash and it was startling but also striking so i decided to grab that little section and play around with it for the intro.
glad the rest of it felt good for ya!

thanks, Tone! i was debating whether i wanted to mic up my amp for the guitars, but i was so happy with the direct input recordings that i decided to just go with them. love the Beasties reference, that was such a great era for them.
and that chipmunk is lucky he's so cute!

oh you totally should, i bet you would find the drumprints very inspiring. it's fun to feel like i'm rocking out with a great drummer like Spencer. glad you like this one!

i've been amassing so many tracks (and i already had some recorded that haven't been used for WB). i admit i'm having a bit of a hard time trying to decide what i want to do for an official release. i've been kinda vacillating between doing smaller EPs with song that are in a similar vibe vs doing a massive double album blowout

Yeah! This was super fun! The intro left me wondering what I was get into, but I was please where it led! I really enjoyed the guitar work and the short but well crafted vocal harmonies. Thanks for this!

I think Jimmy's cousin lives near me cause I've had some bites taken out of my jalapeños I've been trying to grow. This track rocks. Really liking the amp sims you have on those guitars with a killer crunchy distortion. The intro had me saying "Dang, where is this going?" I like where it went. I can see why this was fun.

LOVE the sound design here and the start/stop. How did you make that sound!?
Guitar harmonies/melody at 55 *chefs kiss*

Very cool! Enjoy how this song is straight and to the point, and feels like it doesn't need to be more than that. Like a sudden gust of wind that leaves your hear messy but is also refreshing

haha, well since you BROUGHT IT UP....
seeing as it has been literally months since you asked me (i'm sorry) i had to open up the Reaper session to refresh my memory.
so for that intro:
when i was working on the fadeout, i accidentally hit play and stop a couple times in quick succession on the last crash at the end with those wonky guitar harmony slidy things and the drums etc and it sounded SO WEIRD. so i rendered a wav file of the master track and then chopped just that final crash. then i pasted that a bunch of times at the beginning and just started messing around with those samples. some of them were reversed, some forward, some chopped into little glitchy hits, panned, etc. i liked it so much i ended up using it throughout the song too as accents to the drumbeat.
and now you know!
also, HI IT WAS NICE TO TALK (ramble at) WITH YOU TODAY
