love the intro and go go sk5! oooh the drum buckets and organ grinder yikes awesome sound!  holy neato mastered by Jeremy of Red Means Recording!? yikes  love the lyrics heart  such a feel good song, great job from you and neon liminal!  Oof that warpy intro! it's like the toys just lit up in the closet ala close encounters smile

Awesome head bopping jam. It's like this perfect balance of organic, grungy, and raw but still super balanced and professional sounding. Cohesive, but with character and heart. Loving all these collabs!

simply amazing... again (clapping non-stop)

thanks so much, Wizard!! yeah, this one was super fun to work on. the sound of the SK5 through my guitar amp made me very happy. the extra drums that neon sent over were the icing on the cake! i love that Close Encounters reference.

*and sorry, i edited my description note for clarity - Jeremy mastered the version of neon liminal's 'summer forever' that is posted on his bandcamp, not my WB song smile

yay, thank you! i've been working hard on how to make things feel raw and textural without becoming a total mess. hopefully i'm making some progress, the weekly exercise has been teaching me a lot!

Man, I love how everything in this sits together. neon liminal's percussion, organ and random clangs might well be the bed to an industrial track, but are instead paired with the light tones of your voice. It's a brilliant pairing, and everything sounds fantastic. Absolutely love the vocals in this - flavors of post rock and 60s pop in a tone that is all your own. Another favorite for the list smile

I mean this was all the fun right from the get go. Casio junkyard band go! Thanks for letting me bang my (virtual) plastic buckets and pipes for you heart

heart

Well done once again, had a good chuckle at your expression at the end.

Such an unexpected melody for the harmony underneath, and it works great! A bit of a Syd Barrett vibe, only the drumming situation sounds much more modern and the stereo image is fantastic. I dig this!

thank you, rplktr!! i've been working on improving the stereo image (and overall balance) of the mixes, so i really appreciate that. ooh - and i do love me some Syd.

Actual banger. Amazing production and the vocals are awesome

Love the fun bouncy vibe with the positive message and just the right level of noise underneath.

Various sounds are combined to create a wonderful pop atmosphere. It's a very comfortable song!

This is wonderful! Wow!

love this, the drums and percussion are so cool - the found sounds(?) are fun, unexpected but fit really well, same for the lofi organ sound (SK1?). Great melody and vocals! The production is mixing is amazing too.

You must be a member of the animal collective. Such a great vibe. Love the track.

I don't know why, but this feels like a spooky march but also uplifting somehow!!! What!?!?! Hahahaha... Very nice job, really enjoying the arrangement in this one.

The drums/buckets(?) sound great, such a cool feeling all around. I like the occasional dissonance in this track and the slightly grungy but mostly uplifting vibe. Lovely message too smile

This song rocks and packs a beautiful message. Awesome!

love this, sounds amazing and put a smile on my face

Great song, swaying and bobbing along. Love these lyrics! yes yes

so many cool percussion elements, a lot going on but never too much. And quite the master credit RMR!! Beautiful lyrics masterfully executed, as always.

I have a soft spot for Casios lofi drums that used to come in their old keyboards. Very bouncey track. Very kind lyrics smile

I love that intro and the whole raw vibe of this track. Great vocals, too. They sit perfectly in this feel-good, finger-snapping tune. Seeing you thumb that bass made me want to dust off my old Epiphone bass I played back in the 80s. I did, and the strings are rusted. smile This is another delicious collab. I've already listened three times and will come back for more.

This is great. Super upbeat and happy. I love this.

Loved this, such a fun track, drums have a really nice loose flow, the little casiotone bloops and bleeps are a nice touch, the lyrics and vocal delivery again sit just right, can't help but sing along, you don't even need to ask.  Just listened again, great work the two of you, will play this one for my kids.

thanks, ddmm64! the keys were from my SK5. the lower part was the organ setting, and the high "lead" i'm pretty sure was the vibraphone setting. i plugged it into my guitar amp which gave it some nice grit  smile
by "found sounds" i think you're referring to some of the percussive stuff? if so, that's a combo of my percussion (recorded while the SK5 beat was playing, i was banging on a trash can and some other random stuff around the room - my percussion is panned harder out to the sides),  and then also the drums the neon liminal sent over were from a sample pack he has with buckets and pipes etc. i love his drums so much!

we're all gonna spooky march right up to the mirror, look ourselves in the eye and...
say it with me:
I'M PROUD OF YOU, KID
thank you, jegasus!

thank you, Friend. it was definitely a little cleaner/ less-dissonant at first, but i accidentally hit the "wrong" keys on the Casio and i liked it so much that i had to lean into it a bit.
i'm glad you resonated with the message. it's not always easy to put out positivity, but i've found inspiration from you and...
oh hey, look at whose comment is right below this one!
yeah, you and levelcapybara have both shown that when you do it with genuine feeling, a positive message can really help.  smile

thank you, SQF! always appreciate you checking out my tunes.

and sorry for the confusion, the RMR master credit is on the version of neon liminal's song "Summer Forever" that he posted recently on bandcamp:
'summer forever (for Chris)'

big love to all y'all. on to Week... 37!

A great industrial shuffle! Reminds me of early Floyd in its Syd Barret-esque jauntiness and unexpected qualities…that fuzzy organ sound is also ace. This is a hit smile

always love to hear a Syd reference! and yeah, turns out playing my little Casio through my old Music Man amp is super fun and gives it some great overdrive. works particularly well with the organ sound.
thank you!

That little Casio sounds soooo good in this track.  I love how it all came together.  The vocal processing is awesome too, the saturation sounds great.

Positively rocks. Production quality sounds like it came out of a pro studio. Listened a few times and favorited. Trying to think what artist it’s evoking 🤔

Everything that’s here is perfect but my only opinion would be that it sounded like it was building up to a main section with driving guitar and fuller drums or something that never came. I got so excited hearing the intro like sheesh what’s about to come

You've gotta love collabs.  I'm a big fan of them and especially for live performance.  Always inspiring.
