"get a rake
i threw yr leaf blower into the lake" lol

So well done. Love the chord progressions and the percussion is *chefs kiss*
Lyrics are perfection.

So fun!

Fun energy and I can definitely get Blur (the band) vibes from it.  I like the backing vocals in the chorus.

I am also made of trash!

This however rocks plenty! Love it heart

Oh man, I love the chord progression on the bridge.  This track definitely totally has like Frank Black, Teenager of The Year type energy, in like the best possible way.  I dig it.

Lovely burst of energy!

The amount of fun you had while making this 100% comes through, this is so great. Awesome work, the indie rock vibes are really fantastic here.

Love the energy, this totally rocks and is a bunch of fun. My socks are thoroughly knocked off and my head is bobbing lol Your collaborators absolutely crushed their parts here, kudos!

Thrilling! Beautiful harmonies, great energy, hilarious lyrics. YES: let's throw out those leaf-blowers!

A great indie rock song this definitely is. Yes, it has pop appeal too. I am not a Blur expert, but this could come from this direction. A brilliant song this week and congratulations to your combo. Thank you for sharing

"t's a blur, it's a fake
it's a never-ending funeral wake"

Love it, great tribute it all comes together.

This track is a bop! Definitely getting the blur vibe with that bridge and the backing vocals on the chorus. Super catchy. And love the lyrics!

this sounds so good, love the vocal melody and the drums are perfect for the song, really great!

hooray! it's funny that you mentioned the bgvs in the chorus. emily and i have both remarked more than once that you and Michael Doty (our buddy who added those harmonies) remind us of each other and feel like you are kindred musical spirits.

Ha, that's cool!  I see you've linked to his bandcamp page.  I will be sure to have a listen soon.

Yay for Blur tributes! So fun, sounds splendid. Glad you put Blur in title and lyrics, I think I did need that nudge to know. So I'm bopping along here, bopping into my evening. I may even listen to Blue while I cook dinner. Love the drums and bass contributions. Good job feeding two birds with one scone (I work with someone who says that phrase whenever someone says "let's kill two birds with one ...", love that)

Rock on!

Those drums and bass line are solid to work with! Not sure who did start the core of the track, but it works great.

Bravo.

I'll throw your leaf blower into a lake. Priceless. I loved this one, the lyrics, the vocals, the percussion, the guitars... everything. Really great work and congrats to all involved! Oh, and if you're not a fan of the kill two birds idiom, you can try substituting it with "get two birds stoned at once" care of Ricky from the TPB.

Love the tribute band idea that was the genesis of this track. And what an awesome collab that is funny, upbeat, and pure adrenaline. The vocal harmonies on the chorus are just perfect.  I can definitely see shake dancing to this at a frat party. And yes I got some strange looks when I laughed out loud at the leaf blower in the lake line, while sitting in Starbucks.  I just smiled and kept nodding my head to the beat.  smile

Wow great song! I love the singing and the vocal harmonies! Pop magic there and interesting lines with the synth, that really keep it interesting. You made a beautiful pop track (in the good meaning of the word). I think this one will get stuck in my ear. Favoriting it!

i recorded the guitars first then sent them to Gemma who added her drum part. then i added my vocal and sent a mix over to Doty who added bass and backing vocals. i was so excited when i heard their parts and had a lot of fun mixing it.

haha, that's great. thanks for listening and laughing along with us!

Not much to add to what is above, another really fun track with clever and well executed vocals, drums are fantastic, and achieves the most important thing, this will remain swirling around in your head.

This track is amazing! I continue to marvel at your vocals - soft and textures in a folky tune, and then you proceed to ROCK OUT in something like this. Awesome 90s alt vibes. I want an album of this.

YAY! Love the energy in this!  If my body could handle it I would be moshing around my room now.  The drums, bass, vocal harms and lyrics are just spot on AWEsome! That riff for "GET OUT" is friggin \m/  Also love the leaf blower getting thrown into the lake!  Scaring my backyard (feline) buddies away and makin the wrong kinda ruckus.  Hope you guys get to pick next month's cover smile  Kudos to Gemma & Doty.  Excellent song!

A masterpiece with the best band sound and a pop feel that exudes melancholy!

But seriously this is so so good. Such an upbeat pop vibe.

Capturing some serious vintage pop vibes here.  It's a bop as the kids would say!  Haha

thanks, my Paisley pal! i'm trying to figure out some actual release stuff. kinda waffling between doing a few smaller EP type releases with similar song grouped together vs like a double album that's all over the place, mix-tape style. either way, will hopefully have some things up on the ol' jwh bandcamp over the next year.
i've also been thinking about going back and remixing (or at least remastering) some of the stuff i've already got up there after everything i've learned this year. just need more hours in the day, right?   smile
