Moneyball

I made this while watching Moneyball. Hence the projector sound? Although they never use a projector in the movie... whatever, it's my favorite movie and I cannot be dissuaded.

I love that movie!

Solid bassline. Groovy. love the grit there.

And yeah it is a great movie.

This is great. Love the snare bouncing off that kick and the bass. This captures some of that percussive feel that Kursa uses heaps, which I really dig.

Love the bassline and the distortion on it! Great tune!

Funky and cinematic.

Hell yeah! "It's a metaphor." "I KNOW it's a metaphor."

Thanks! I started with a simpler bassline, then added tons of ghost/leading notes while using the "probability" feature in Live, so it would only occasionally play them. Each loop is different each time. For the sound design, I experimented with Live's new Roar plugin, and there's a full stack of EQs and different distortion plugins. Completely unplanned, kept going until things sounded good and it took up 50% of my CPU at any moment. 😄

Thanks for this, although this is one of those times where I used a pre-made loop from Oliver and chopped it up liberally. Always feels awkward to me... the sound design on those drums is SO good, but I can't take credit for that part. 😕 I need to improve on my own drum design and programming skills.

I don't mind if a loop is the same every time. I paid for the full beating, I'll take the full beating.

welcome back! strong track this week, really love that it is bass led. favorited

This is such a groovy track.  Like, I challenge anyone to sit perfectly still listening to this... well anyone who's ambulatory, anyway.  And the projector of sound at the end, very nice touch.
