"Judith Kate Friedman's voice has all the power of a hurricane delivered in a lullaby.
I feel her soul when she sings. Like Phoebe Snow, her melodies wind around and embrace you."
– Bluesman Guy Davis

A life-long vocalist, award-winning performing songwriter and producer, Judith-Kate Friedman blends folk, roots, jazz, blues, choral/world music traditions and improvisation in uplifting concerts full of heart, grace and groove.  Her songwriting has been called  “cinematic,” her voice “mesmerizing,” and her rapport with audiences “masterful.”  Performing solo on acoustic guitar or with her band of world-class musicians, Friedman moves deftly between her own classic love songs, historic tales and lyric ballads, and stories, humor, and inspiration drawn from her Jewish ancestry and 25 years songwriting with elders.  She sees performance as a time to celebrate beauty, infuse spunk, and ignite the imagination.

"Music saves lives.  My hope is to share some truth and delight through my songs and to leave us all a bit more encouraged than when we began.”

Judith-Kate is available for concerts, workshops, master classes, keynotes, and special events, performing solo, with her band the Bricoleurs, with Songwriting Works’ touring ensemble, and with mythsinger Daniel Deardorff.

“Cinematically expansive, stylistically diverse.... May knock over ‘folkie’ expectations.”
– Dirty Linen Magazine

“Like Baez, Friedman has that kind of pure voice and knack for emotional tunes.”
–New Orleans Times-Picayune
