Callisto Orbit

By Judgement Act on January 16, 2022 11:00 am

Little is known regarding the fates of the crew and colonists of the Exploratory Corps Ship Callisto Dawn, other than that they did not arrive at the target system on schedule, or at any point in the proceeding 200 years. Six hundred souls embarked on what was just another of the Exploratory Corps' mad dashes to the stars, and six hundred and eight were due to touch down on P3X-687 a mere 12 years later. While the planet has long been considered low priority for colonisation based on more modern classification techniques (chiefly, a better ability to detect valuable materials using long range radio scanography), more and more ships pass through the region of space that was once so far from the light of civilisation that brave pioneers dedicated the remainder of their life to tame it. It is possible, then, that some unsuspecting traveller might stumble across the fate of the Dawn, and close the book on at least one of the thousand lost colony ships.

Sounds good man, i remember your miko stuff from 2020, you are on a hole new level

very fitting story, nicely done!

This is amazing stuff, legit space tune.

But one question remains: Miku?

Beautiful. Reminds me of that one time I went to space and never came back.

Ah nice, I like the usage of bongos there, this is not typical of the atmosphere but works very well. The main melody/lead with the guitar like synth (I assume?) is very nice, sounds promising and adventurous. An evocative track!

this absolutely has scifi space station vibes. really lovely piece

Retro-futurist vibes, both 80s-drenched, yet fresh AF, lovely work!

Oh wow! Love the percussion in this. Nice work man.

Thanks! It's actually a guitaret! According the Omnisphere preset, that is. big_smile

Cool sound palette, there is nice stuff going on in space. Really like the blend of more synthetic and realistic-acoustic sounds.

Very cool vibe to this track.  I'm a big fan of the 80s guitary synth tone, it works really well here.

Very nicely put together.  Dig the percussive elements in this over the bass progression.

I dig the vibe and the production!

thst intro was sublime

amazing! i didn't read the text all the way thru, just listened, so i assume the text spoke of two event-horizons coming together as one, all lights surrounding the encompassing clash of heavenly vessels gone out in the blink of an eye, like one huge reverse-big-bang, as the two became a single encompassing darkness that framed all light, the only true and final story of love there is to this entire universe.
yes, i heard it all in this track, nice one smile

[Fake edit: i went back and read your text now after finishing listening, your story is much better than mine, fair enough, i'll try not to guess next time]

this is wonderful in every way

big_smile Love it! To be fair the story typically comes after the track! It was very late in production that I added the intro, the dialogue in which is relevant to the story. That you could pull a narrative of your own from it is more than I could have hoped for. Thanks for listening!

This is really cool imagining a space station with a forest/jungle. bunch of astronauts flying into space and exploring this jungle on space station

Callisto Dawn, meet Passerine on Libra

Also this was great

The progression in this song is fantastic. Good job!

You set the tone for the space journey so well, then off it goes. The bongos are a welcome surprise. This soars, a good space epic for sure, can't wait to hear more chapters of the story!

You are the most active commenter I've seen and this is such a damn treat to listen to.  Can't wait to hear more

My goal this year is comments for comments + 50 random tracks sorted by least comments every week, just to make sure people get a little recognition that someone has listened to their track! You always find such great stuff and its a shame not many people are commenting!

I've already listened to more tracks this year than I have in previous years combined and found some true gems.  You're doing good work

Beautiful space ambient and so calming melodies on this. Wonderful song!

I feel like I'm discovering what happened. I think it was you who I listened to a few times in 2020 where a track accompanied a piece of writing. This was fun.

I got caught up in this one and forgot I was listening lol, very smooth

I have definitely done this in the past, but I'm by no means the only one!

Floating. Loving the vibe, synths, and guitar. very emotive
