Speaking in Loops

By alonemusic on January 16, 2022 10:39 am

This week I messed around with some samples that I assume are meant for making lo-fi hip hop beats. I have no intention of doing that, so started messing with how big I could make them sound.

I really should start composing on something other than the laptop keyboard, I get stuck in the white notes. Literally forced myself to smack a C# in at the end. This sounds like I might know what I'm doing... I really don't big_smile

The first half of this is great. The second half is amazing. Love the progression, feels very 2000s TV or movie theme. Awesome stuff!

the whole crescendo was suuper well made, I don't know if I'd call that a lofi beat but it's quite chill and super well mixed, I liked it

Really neat tune man! Keep up the great work smile

Subtitle: "The luckiest Lo-Fi beat samples"

The video game lineage is STRONG with this track.  If @note!'s track for this week is "menucore", then this dips in and out of that, along with "titlescreencore," "winterstagecore," and "thatimpossibleslevelwhereyouneedtobe100%inthezonecore".

The bit starting around 02:24 invokes the full-gamut soundscape & groove I heard in my head playing 8-bit games as a kid (with the occasional adult in the background, musing how anyone could stand those bloops and bleeps as music).

Great development all the way through.  The C# made a difference!

God bless that c# heart Thanks for you kind words!

A story is taking shape.

were those clicks from the PO office?  love it either way.

the track was a fun jam, but then at 2:27 it went into hyperdrive and it was the rising bassline at 2:35 that gave me the chills and was like THIS IS ALONE MUSIC *fireworks, explosions, you on a stage, rocking out, fans in the stadium screaming*

Superb sounds, an enchanting and exciting journey
