Last week I had just found out about weeklybeats and very quickly tried to cobble something together using the fastest method I know of - create a theme and imitate at the octave. This week I gave myself slightly more time and decided to snap out of the baroque and into the 2020's.

This is a minimal thing - mostly banking on atmosphere and two simple harmonic progressions. Couldn't resist a little neapolitan sixth at the end so I'm obviously not yet completely cured of last week's baroquish shenanigan.

I have no idea how to mix or master, use Bitwig's Grand Piano or record the velocity correctly (I played a lot softer than the final result somehow ended up), and had some unresolved troubles with Wine. Learnings for next week I suppose. Hopefully there is something salvageable here despite all this smile Excited to hear what everybody has made this week!

Welcome and congratulations on the first beat here! I like the buildup, the dynamics, and the composition!

Nice! Dramatic big_smile heart

This is very satisfying.
