The Cure for it All

By Jokinen on June 21, 2020 6:05 pm

Wrote 99% of this today in 2ish hours before family parties start. I'm not a fan of the vocals in the verse but this song warranted some sort of vocals. Enjoy and happy fathers day to all the dads!

Happy fathers day man.  Pretty impressive that you cranked out a 4:00 song in 2 hours.  The guitar tone in the intro and in the solo are cool as hell.  Nothing wrong with the vocals on this, they have a really 80s pop vibe to them.

Very cool. Happy Father's Day to you too sir.

nice - I guess the title is a reference to the band The Cure? If not, the guitars have an early Cure-feel to it, that i really dig!

Thanks dude! I was surprised that this track went from 4 bars to this in 2 hours as well haha. I friggin love the chorus/phaser tones.

Oh you betcha on The Cure. Those tones are top tier are for me.

nice track homeboy.  i gotta step up my lyric writing game; seems like i can never come up with shit.  lol @ the "mykidsdontstoptalking" tag.  Catchy guitar riffs

damn dude, pretty long and solid arrangement for not being able to work on to long.  super chorusy, but you pull it off because its something youre not doing week in and week out

I was half expecting Robert Smith kind of singing but it ended up being more Bauhaus' Peter Murphy like. This works as well! Good job in such a short time!

Dude, this worked out great. You have a great vocal tone for that Cure/Killers feel. Keep this vibe coming.

Thanks dawg. I'm a fan of the chorusy stuff, it sounds so clean.

I wanted a Robert Smith sound to it but my damn mic had a half second delay when I went back in to re-record haha. I definitely missed the mark with it.

Hell ya, I'll take that! Thanks man. Excited for 'our' track this week!

Regardless of the state of the vocals, the whole thing is still pretty neat.

Hey man, happy belated fathers day.  Love the bassyness of this song and the lower vocals. This week you got more of a goth rock sound which is great to hear. Somewhere between Sisters of Mercy and the Cure? I'm dating myself, but it Rocks!
