M8: Desync

Found a lovely slow guitar loop, mangled it slightly, added some dnb, shipped! Let's not overthink it.

Sample by Nofuk -- https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/297615/drown-hearts-guitar-part1-nofuk-free-118bpm-trap-acoustic-guitar-loop

OHH YEAAAAH I love this one.  So many things to like: intro developing at its own pace while always building interest――an initial beat that isn't D&B, setting the mood for when it shows up――the D&B beat's entrance (boop! subtly shifting the track into a different genre without any fuss or confusion――and the beat matching the existing aesthetic of the track (instead of stomping it)――the net effect sounding very "natural" and cool (and fresh as hell for D&B).  It doesn't hurt that the guitar hook + bass both sound rad, too.  Lots of understatement and gravitas all around.

You're on a roll, jimmac―your track last week triggered a train of thought that resulted in my track for this week, and I wouldn't be surprised if that happens again here.   cool

“Let’s not overthink it” — said the man posting a clever ass beat. (One of your best, love this.)

While making a typo in DNB tag wink Thanks

I'm blushing here. You have a great analytical mind, identified the bits I liked about the track 100%. Everyone please ease on the praise, I'm gonna be depressed when the roll inevitably hits rock bottom and I won't be able to make a 4/4 beat.

yeah no overthinking, this is my WB motto, and as always it does yield good results. nice one. I think WB can make us feel too much pressure, let's enjoy it. I like this, chill. fun, good bass, not complicated, fav

DMB goes DnB - great track, great typo

love the simplicity of the arrangement, all the complexity comes from the restraint and the tightening of the synths. great stuff

there is a fun sort of spinning quality to this piece i'm really enjoying

Thanks dude, I'm happy you still were able to identify them as vocals. I tend to overdo these smile

Too kind. I'm still hoping it clicks some day and I won't feel like a have no idea what I'm doing.

Happy to hear. Thanks everyone for the comments, this place is starting to feel like home.

the uptempo'd take on the original sample is definitely an improvement on the "trap acoustic loop" the sample's marketed for...
was that timestretch done with the m8?  (i know it could, just curious if you did)

Thanks. Yes the stretch was done with a sample start LFO on the M8.

Used the track for an FPV race event here --

Was just reminded of this again by a noggin set; it's still one of my favorites from this year cool

Thanks again, man. I'm struggling a bit at the moment, so it's a cool reminder that it just went so easy at some point big_smile
