Trade Wars

By Jim Wood on June 1, 2018 9:18 pm

Plogue Art et Technologie Alter/Ego voice Marie Ork singing a BBC report on the current Trumpian trade embargo. F Major.

The vocal samples sound like some sort of crazy horn section or something to me.  It gets a nice little swing going, too.  I was bobbing my head along involuntarily.  smile

I love alterego, but ive never heard Marie before. She sounds better than I expected! Nice pitch bends between those notes, bending like that is probably the most fun part of vocaloids haha.

The voice synthesis is trippy. Cool you make something good from bad policy. Trump is an ass hat. Good choice of arrangement of the mix with instruments not interfering with the higher register of the voice synths. Gives it lots of space.

great sound design... really fresh!

this is again a great voice and music glitchpitch. I like the diversified sounds in here.

Listened to the song early this morning and now in the afternoon, both times always thinking about bananas, maybe because it's a funny like bananas are and it helps getting over nowadays' strange American politics

Thanks for your comments! Marie is a new (also free) voice for Alter/Ego. As ipaghost said in his last week's post, none of the Alter/Ego voices are really articulate; they seem to work better if you treat them like instruments.

Sounds cool and also chaotic, like it!

Love the echo on the drums.
Also enjoy the fade in and fade outs on the various elements, so everything gets a bit of spotlight, not just "vocals"

Great tempo as well.

The voice is incredibly lush.  I remember Plogue Bidule!  What a fascinating program! I'm lulled and disturbed at the same time!

Somebody get me Queen Amidala STAT! And whatever a viceroy is, get me one! JaJa approves!!! Great track Jimbo

I've just landed on some peculiar musical alien world.  A trip.

Oh Marie Ork, your voice so thick and satisfying

Next time you can do a duet with Bone.

On my bucket list.

Oh man, this is great! The context makes is so gleefully dystopian. That voice synth is amazing. I should really digout Plogue - I don't reckon I've used it in about 10 years!

Your really made Alter/Ego with this track! love that deep bass/accompaniment heart

whoops, really mangled my sentence up there, that's what I get for phone typing/auto-correct! I meant to write You really made Alter/Ego shine with this track!

A good prediction of what our computer overlords have in store for us.

I love that last bit especially... but great all the way smile

The vox morph into a brassy synth sound especially towards the end.  Nice outro too!

Thank you! The chaos magick that controls our present government is a never-ending source of material.
