Surveilance

By Jim Wood on October 25, 2014 4:47 pm

Vocals: kizzylotus "Homesick" (http://ccmixter.org/files/kizzylotus/47456), KaeFurious "The Graveyard" (http://ccmixter.org/files/KaeFurious/47691), Sybil Smith "Dancing Like a Maniac" (http://ccmixter.org/files/sybilsmith/47546), organized as a kind of polytextual motet. D Major.

As always, excellent, excellent choice of vocal samples--the lead here is almost flute-like. Then the harmonies and the groove come in, and we have quite a beautiful journey (just not through a surveillance state, I hope).  There's a great interplay of the light (lead vocals, pads) and the heavy (downbeats) that makes this really rich.  What a track!

Wow. That is some compliment! Check out vinpous WB 43 entry -- he used the Kae Furious vocal as well.

I think I like your piece more than mine - more abstract. And I love how all the vocal parts interact (despite being from different source material).

Great track, as usual!

Also, we're only 2bpm away from each other. I went for 90.

Beautiful, and as I've come to expect from you: amazing use of vocals!

just love how the vocals and the stabs/pads unite. Sounds so full and ear-flattering...

Man, you've mastered the vocal manipulation! It adds a whole new texture/dimension. Very cool and innovative!

You first, my dear Gaston! After you, my dear Alphonse :-)

Thanks for your kind compliments gentlemen!

Just gotta echo what everyone else has already said.  Really sweet vocal manipulations on this one.
