Ride

This weird track has been in the works for over five years now. I think it's stewed for way too long, way too much going on, and the mix is just not good, but I've been anxious to finally release this and get it over with. Oddly enough, the vocals were added in the last four hours before the deadline, but I knew the track needed them to be complete.

Like 2020 I'll be using WeeklyBeats as a platform to submit short-form tracks and finish WIPs, since these days I don't really have time to work on music... Still, hoping to use it to grow this year.

Let me know what you think, but at this time I've resigned myself to pushing out whatever I think sounds good enough.
More importantly, let me know what this reminds you of. I hope to find any subconsciously "borrowed" content (despite trying to be original) and find good new music.

inspirations/plagiarism: panning from fantastic plastic machine's remix of steppin' out, 2Mello vocal sample style, lyrics from camisado, can't remember what else since it's been so long in the making...

helll yes love this future-y footwork-y hyperpoppy vibe heart the classic rave piano/string break is so sick!

Great work.
I too have found borrowing from the unconscious to be tricky.
So... I believe that if I put it through my filter(biased view?), it will be a little sharper and with a twist:)

Hmm, hard to translate.
I'm sorry if it's Terrible English.

future footwork?! so good!!!

Very cool!

“More importantly, let me know what this reminds you of” – although it sounds very different, the energy and some elements somehow reminded me of Africa Hitech

def hearing a juke/footwork vibe...I can imagine Chance rapping over this

Ayyyyyyy.  Footwork crossover represent.  Love this vibe.  The subtle ride cymbal work is amazing... the M1 style piano just on point and the sequencing divine.  I'd listen to shit out of this in EP format!!

I once spent 2 weeks travelling japan meeting hanging with a bunch of the footwork crews (was shooting a documentary).  This reminds me a bit of Picnic Women who I thiiiiink we met in Osaka?  Either way - love your vibe.  Don't feel the pressure to make a tune every week.  Do Monthly Beats if it's too crazy to keep up.  Tracks like this take a long time to program.
