THE PID

I have a soft spot for ROMplers. This whole song is essentially built around the (unfortunately named) “Piddle-Dee” patch of Roland’s Platinum Trax. There’s a bunch of JV-2080 in there, too.

This is by far the fastest song I’ve ever written. I mean “fast” in the sense that it clocks in at 147 BPM. As per tradition, I ran out of time to really work out transitions or an interesting bass line… but hey, it ain’t called Perfect Beats!

The piano at 2:40 👨‍🍳 💋
This takes me back to my childhood. I love the track.

I love the feeling of spatial awareness opening up around the driving beat. It’s both expansive and pulsating. And then that piano hits! Yes!

Hypnotic liquidy lead. Love how it filters into the piano break and then shifts back into the trance groove.

Oh man, I was blissing out and then the piano started and I LOVE IT

Jeepers, another listener who was bopping along and loved the piano's entrance when it came.  But the acid bass is also lovely!  The mix sounds super-clean, so I say keep ROMpling away!

It's amazing how evocative those old romplers are.

Instantly back to the 90s!

Big nostalgia vibes on this on! I also have a soft spot for the rompler sound, and this track has those sounds in spades haha. I dig this. I really love those background pads. They're lovely.
