For some reason I exported last weeks track in Mono. Can't remember if it was intentional. Probably was, not much going on in the sides.

Anyway, here's some stereo acid. Recorded the arrangement live to three tracks in Ableton. TD-3 on the left and x0xb0x on the right. Funny how the synths don't respond identically to the same MIDI pattern. The TD-3 has a narrower MIDI note range and the x0xbox has an obscure bug that occurs when there are several slide'd notes in a row. So you can hear them deviate slightly here and there with a few dropouts and stuff. I added some chorus, delay and Eventide spring reverb ITB for the atmosphere.

Sticking with last weeks formula, there's only acid and breaks going on. The arrangement could need some more elements, but yeah... Sunday energy. Sampled a well known break into the ALM Salmpler, used the CV inputs to auto-chop the break on the way in, it's just four slices on the quarter notes. Tuned down the sample rate and the bitrate on the sampler for some grit. Not much going on other than that breaks wise. Smashed it hard with Drum Buss in Ableton and did some edits Just4Fun.

Enjoy!

Lovely warm acid bath for a Monday morning!

I didn't read the description until after a couple of listens, my ears knew there was something interesting going on in the stereo field but hadn't twigged that there were 2 different synths.

Really cool swampy acid! big_smile It gives me Eddie EWI vibes a bit, would totally be a fit for frog rave big_smile

this is what it sounds like when there are dimples in my acid smile

Awwwww yeah

aciiiiidddddd

Bubbly acid bass & tight breaks awwww yeah

Saucy! That stereo effect is rad and the deviations of the midi adds a nice spice. Wondering if I need another 303 clone. The TD-3 is very tempting. How do you like that ALM Salmpler? I've been tempted to pick one up for drum duties in my case but never puled the trigger.

Cheers! LOL, swampy and frog rave fits well, re-listened to the track with those words in mind. :-)

Didn't know Eddie EWI, fun stuff. And he definitely has the squelch going.

I think the TD3 is alright. I opened it and did the quick square wave mod (just desoldered a cap) and tuned the filter down slightly with the trimpot.

This was the first track I used the Salmpler on, so not a whole lot of experience with it so far. It's pretty quick to work with, easy to turn down the sample/bit rate etc. I like the sampling workflow I have set up with a couple of Expert Sleepers modules. Just play the breakbeat out from Ableton and pass along a gate signal for the duration of the sample as well as triggers for the start of each sample slice.

I'm late to the party, but this is some tight work. The filter work is immaculate and a bit of reverb on the drums makes me feel like I'm at an underground rave in a tunnel. Lovely.
