Counting Suit

I got a 404. I need a lot of practice. And to resample more. And to quantize — it was agony not to quantize all the things.

I wish I could say the experience of playing live was fun, regardless. But it was just super stressful for the whole 28 takes it took me to get this one. I sequence for a reason. The grid is my friend.

Anyway, they say you're not learning if you're not uncomfortable, so I guess I learned something this week.

Drums are from Samples From Mars. Melodies are snippets from M8 instruments.

We could all use more shuffle in our beats. Maybe you could nudge a few hits around that feel way off, but I wouldn't quantize this! It wouldn't feel the same. It comes together when the chords, bass and melody all kick in. I like it. smile

Quantization isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. There are a few timing issues that could have been slightly smoothed out, but it isn’t hugely distracting, especially when the rest of the sounds kick in.

Nice overall vibe. Good feel to this track.

The human aspect is nice tho, and so are the sounds in this

Beautiful. Even we mannequins love the human touch
