Sisyphean Relentlessness

Welcome back yet again, fellow travelers! Come, set your packs down and sit with me by the fire! Here, I made sweets! They're probably the best batch I've made so far, and mind you, I've made some good ones
This week was another one of those where Weekly Beats coincided with the M8 Community Jam. Thankfully I was still able to create separate songs for each one even though I only spent a handful of hours on music-making these past few days - Baldur's Gate 3 has been a really big deterrent, haahhaha! Also, I kind of cheated a bit, because today's WB submission is based on an old project I found on my SD card. It had a core loop with bunch of cool ideas, but no real progression or development through sections, so I spent a little time working on that and arrived at what you're hearing now. It still feels a bit repetitive, but in this case, I think it really suits the theme!
For some reason, I keep making marching songs! It seems that I can't help myself! Hahahahaha... Since the melody builds up slowly and then quickly comes back down to "home" to start over again, I had this scene playing out in my mind of someone struggling to push a rock up a hill over and over again, only to have it roll back down. Which is when I got the idea of naming the song after Sisyphus, the famous character from Greek Mythology.
As usual, this song was made entirely on the Dirtywave M8 Tracker, then passed through Audacity to generate a simple 192kbps MP3.
I know I'm repeating myself, but my apologies once again. This has been yet another week where I haven't really been able to properly listen and/or comment on others' WB songs. Hopefully, this coming week will be calmer!
Cheers, folks!!!
