Show Me Your Moves

Hello and welcome, friends! This past week was an interesting one, at least musically speaking. I ended up having three music lessons in one single week! On Monday I picked up banjo lessons again, now with a new instructor, after having stayed away for about a month and I'm having quite a bit of fun! I also had my regular piano lesson and a make up session to compensate for last week where I didn't have any. So quite a lot of musical stuff going on! At least that's what I'm telling myself so that I don't feel that guilty for being a bad student and not having yet taken the banjo out of its case since the Monday lesson, hahahaha...

This week I ended up cheating a bit again. I didn't have much music composition time this week even though it was a very musical week overall. Then, on Sunday afternoon, I tried just sitting down with the M8 and noodling around with it for a few hours, trying to come up with something from scratch. But for some reason, I was having a really really hard time finding anything inspiring. I would start a blank project, noodle around a bit, feel like I hit a bit of a dead end, then start over with a blank canvas. I probably did this whole thing about six or seven times. So as I saw the deadline approaching, I dug into my archives and found this piece that was super funky and mostly ready. I did a few really minor tweaks, like adding a couple of small variants of one of the bass lines and adding chorus to it to make it more audible, and then called it a day.

Hopefully this coming week I'll be able to spend a little more time coming up with stuff throughout the week instead of trying to come up with a whole track on the spot just hours before the deadline.

Wishing everyone a great week and a happy Mothers' day to those who celebrate!!!

Peace, y'all!

Nailed it smile This was upbeat and fun and semi-unserious in a way. Really enjoyed this one!

Such a fun track, I love the pitch-slid high-pitched lead that continues on throughout.

Oh god, this is gonna be stuck in my head this week.
And, im cool with that!

I like that mellotron-sounding flute patch a lot!

It's catchy and also induces involuntary head bops.  I would be interested in hearing how the banjo melds with your sound.  Hope you utilize it sometime!

cheating! this is a lot of fun with great energy and some ear worm moments. you also make me jealous with all your music tutoring stuff. I need to continue my keys practice some time too

Groovin in my chair, arms voguing and lovin that hypnotic bassline.

Music lessons... damn I might need some of those

suuuuper catchy!
